Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif took a bold stance at the United Nations General Assembly, protesting Israeli actions in Gaza.
After delivering his own address, Sharif led a walkout as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu approached the podium. The Pakistani delegation, alongside several others, followed suit, marking a collective act of dissent.
Sharif’s walkout came immediately after returning to his seat, signaling Pakistan’s strong disapproval of Israel’s actions.
In his address, Sharif condemned Israel’s bombardment of Gaza, describing it as a “genocidal war” and a humanitarian crisis, and highlighted the suffering endured by Palestinian civilians, particularly women and children.
“Our hearts bleed as we witness the tragedy unfolding in the Holy Land,” he stated.
