Asim Khan Secures Quarter final Spot at Charlottesville Open Squash Championship

Muhammad Asim Khan of Pakistan pulled off a remarkable victory on Thursday at the Charlottesville Open Squash Tournament in Virginia, USA, defeating Egypt’s second seed Yahya Elnawasany in a thrilling five-game match.

The unseeded Khan secured his place in the quarterfinals after a hard-fought contest that lasted 60 minutes. He won with scores of 11-7, 4-11, 11-6, 7-11, and 11-7, demonstrating resilience and determination throughout the match.

After the win, Khan expressed his excitement, stating that the victory has given him a confidence boost as he moves forward in the tournament.

In another match, fellow Pakistani player Muhammad Ashab Irfan was knocked out in the second round by Egypt’s seventh seed, Ibrahim Elkabbani. Despite a strong performance, Ashab lost with scores of 11-8, 11-7, 7-11, 11-7 after 57 minutes of play.

The Charlottesville Open, which features a prize fund of $28,750, continues to showcase top squash talent from around the world.
