Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim is set to make his first official visit to Pakistan in the first week of October, according to diplomatic sources.
Accompanied by a high-level delegation, this will be the first visit by a Malaysian leader to Pakistan in five years, following Mahathir Mohamad’s trip in March 2019 during the PTI administration.
The visit is expected to include the signing of several agreements and memorandums of understanding (MoUs). Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim will meet with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and other senior Pakistani officials.
Discussions are anticipated to focus on enhancing trade and investment between the two countries, as well as addressing the Palestinian issue, given both nations’ support for a two-state solution to the Israel-Palestine conflict.
This visit highlights the strengthening relationship between Pakistan and Malaysia, particularly in terms of economic cooperation and shared diplomatic goals.
