Apni Chat Apnay Ghar’ Guide to Applying for the Scheme launched by CM Punjab

-

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has launched the ‘Apni Chat Apna Ghar’ housing scheme, aimed at providing affordable homes and loans to the people of Punjab.

This initiative is set to transform the housing market in the province.

At the launch event in Lahore, the Chief Minister highlighted the crucial role of homeownership and the difficulties faced by those without stable housing.

Scheme Details

The ‘CM Punjab Apni Chat Apna Ghar’ project plans to build over 3,000 homes in each district of Punjab, ensuring equitable distribution of resources.

Initially, the scheme will focus on five cities: Multan, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Sargodha, and Rawalpindi, with 5,000 homes planned for construction near Raiwind Road in Lahore.

The project is designed to assist low and middle-income families by providing affordable and permanent housing solutions.

Affordable Payment Plans

The scheme’s affordability is a major highlight. Each apartment is priced at Rs. 1.5 million, with the government subsidizing 60% of the cost.

Residents will need to cover only 40%, which can be paid in monthly instalments of Rs. 26,000 over five years. This structure makes homeownership achievable for families with modest incomes.

Application Process

The Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) has set up an online portal (acag.punjab.gov.pk) to simplify the application process. Citizens can register, track, and manage their applications online. A helpline (0800-09100) is also available for support.

How to Apply –

  1. Complete the Citizen Registration Form with the following information:
  • Full name
  • CNIC number (your own and your father’s or husband’s)
  • Gender
  • Email address
  • Mobile number (including network provider if ported)
  • Division, District, City
  • Create and confirm a password to finalize registration.

In the initial phase, interest-free loans will be offered to about 70,000 families to help them build homes on their own land.

Social Impact and Benefits

The ‘Apni Chat Apna Ghar’ program is expected to deliver not just affordable housing but also contribute to the socio-economic advancement of Punjab. By promoting homeownership, it aims to elevate living standards and reduce homelessness.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz stated at the launch, “This project is not merely about constructing houses; it’s about building futures, ensuring stability, and providing the people of Punjab with the security of having a place to call home.”
