Imran Khan Challenges Government on Chief Justice Term Extension

-

Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), warned that there could be protests if the government tries to extend Chief Justice Isa’s term or ignores decisions about reserved seats.

Speaking to journalists at Adiala Jail, Khan criticized Pakistan’s current political situation, comparing it to Bangladesh under Sheikh Hasina. He claimed that key positions in the government are being controlled while sidelining the opposition, similar to what happened in Bangladesh.

Khan also accused the government of falsely targeting PTI after the May 9 incidents, saying that many leaders were jailed or forced out.

He warned that if the Chief Justice’s term is extended or Supreme Court decisions are ignored, there will be widespread protests.

Khan also criticized the government for delaying elections, which he said is a way to avoid scrutiny and maintain control.
