Asad Umar Rushed to Hospital from Courtroom Due to Chest Pain “

-

LAHORE: Former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Asad Umar was taken to a hospital on Tuesday after experiencing chest pain at an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Lahore.

Umar’s lawyer stated that his client felt chest pain in the courtroom, prompting immediate medical attention. Doctors quickly took his blood samples and conducted an ECG, which initially appeared normal, though his blood pressure had dropped.

The hospital administration reported that his condition was stable after receiving medication and attributed his health scare to taking blood pressure medicine on an empty stomach.

A video has surfaced showing Umar being lifted into a vehicle by others to be transported to the hospital.

Previously, Umar experienced back pain on June 9 in Karachi and was hospitalized for treatment.

Umar faces several legal challenges following the May 9 riots, including vandalism and the cypher case. He resigned from PTI’s basic membership and exited politics on November 11, 2023, having previously stepped down as the party’s secretary general on May 24, soon after the May 9 incidents.
