Gwadar International Airport to Open on August 14

-

Gwadar International Airport, a significant new addition to Pakistan’s aviation infrastructure, is set to open on August 14.

This state-of-the-art airport is expected to boost regional connectivity and economic growth.

The project underscores Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing its transportation network and accommodating increased air traffic.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will lead the soft launch of the airport. The total cost of the New Gwadar International Airport is Rs54.98 billion.

Located 26 km northeast of the existing Gwadar airport, the new airport covers 3,000 acres of land provided by the government of Pakistan. It is the second greenfield airport in Pakistan, after the new Islamabad Airport.

The new airport can handle various types of aircraft, including ATR 72, Airbus A-300, Boeing B-737, and Boeing B-747, for both domestic and international flights.
