Karachi Dairy Farmers Demand Rs300/Litre Milk Price Amid Cost Surge

-

Dairy and cattle farmers in Karachi are advocating for a significant increase in the price of milk, aiming to raise it by Rs80 per liter from the current rate of Rs220 per liter, which was agreed upon until December 2024.

They have formally requested the Karachi Commissioner to nullify the existing agreement and issue a new notification setting the price at Rs300 per liter.

The farmers cite escalating costs related to dairy farming, such as feed, maintenance, and transportation, which have severely impacted their profitability. Without this price hike, they argue that sustaining operations and meeting market demands will become increasingly challenging.
