Relief From Sindh Government -Establishes 77 Heatwave Centers in Karachi

-

To help Karachi cope with the intense heatwave, the Sindh government has set up 77 relief centers and camps.

This comes after the Pakistan Meteorological Department issued a heatwave warning for several southern regions of the country.

These centers are spread across Karachi, with 11 in the South district, 18 in the East, 6 in the West, 12 in Central, 15 in Malir, 8 in Korangi, and 7 in Keamari. They are strategically located in areas like Civil Lines, Saddar, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, and Gulzar-e-Hijri to assist local residents.

The goal is to provide immediate relief and support to residents during the hot days ahead. Temperatures are expected to range from 38°C to 40°C, making these centers crucial for people to cool down and stay safe.

This proactive step by the government aims to reduce the impact of the heatwave and ensure the well-being of Karachi’s residents during this challenging time.
