Tragedy During Hajj – 35 Pakistanis passed away

The Ministry of Religious Affairs confirmed that 35 Pakistani pilgrims passed away during Hajj 2024.

Families of the deceased can opt for burial in either Saudi Arabia or Pakistan.

Abdul Wahab Soomro, Director General of the Hajj Mission, reported that as of 4pm on June 18, nine pilgrims died in Mina, Arafat .

Additionally, 20 pilgrims passed away in Makkah and six in Madina.

The extreme heat, with temperatures reaching 50 degrees Celsius, posed significant challenges during this Hajj.

The Ministry dismissed allegations on social media about abandoning pilgrims, asserting they rely on verified information from Saudi authorities.

They also acknowledged the cooperation of the Saudi government.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed condolences over the pilgrims’ deaths in Saudi Arabia.
