In 2025, the United States carried out military operations in Venezuela, Nigeria, Somalia, Syria, Iran, Yemen, and Iraq.
These operations included drone strikes, air raids, and naval attacks targeting drug smuggling networks, terrorist bases, and sensitive military and nuclear facilities.
US President Donald Trump confirmed a recent strike on a drug boat in Venezuela, one of the country’s first direct military operations in South America this year.
The boat, used to transport illegal drugs, was destroyed in a major explosion, and smaller vessels in the Caribbean and Eastern Pacific were also targeted.
Other operations included:
🇳🇬 Nigeria: On Christmas Day, the US struck IS-linked group hideouts in northwestern Nigeria.
🇸🇴 Somalia: At least 111 airstrikes targeted Al-Shabab and ISIS branches, causing both militant and civilian casualties.
🇸🇾 Syria: On December 19, 70 ISIS locations in Palmyra were hit following attacks on US troops.
🇮🇷 Iran: On June 22, the US attacked nuclear sites in Natanz, Isfahan, and Fordow. Damage delayed Iran’s nuclear program by an estimated two years.
🇾🇪 Yemen: Air and naval strikes targeted Houthi forces attacking ships linked to Israel, causing extensive casualties.
🇮🇶 Iraq: On March 13, ISIS global operations head Abdullah Maki Masleh Al-Rifa’i, also known as Abu Khadijah, was killed in Anbar Province with Iraqi intelligence cooperation.
Earlier Caribbean operations killed at least 95 people, drawing criticism from human rights groups over legality and civilian safety. These actions reflect the US’s global counterterrorism and drug interdiction efforts and highlight ongoing geopolitical tensions. However, the terrorism by Israel remains the elephant in the room, often overlooked in international discussions.
