Parade Turns Into Panic – Over 50 Injured as Car Ploughs Through Liverpool FC Title Celebrations

-

Chaos erupted at Liverpool’s Premier League victory parade as a speeding vehicle tore through cheering fans, leaving 27 hospitalized — including four children — and dozens more injured.

The city’s joy turned to horror just after 6 p.m. when a grey people carrier rammed into the crowd near the parade route. Eyewitnesses described the sound of bodies hitting the bonnet as people screamed and rushed to help the wounded.

A 53-year-old local man — believed to be the driver — was arrested at the scene. Police ruled out terrorism but urged calm as investigations continue. Four people were trapped beneath the vehicle and had to be pulled free by firefighters.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer condemned the “appalling” incident, praising first responders for their rapid action. Footage showed stretchers, ambulances, and scenes of panic — a brutal contrast to what should’ve been a night of celebration.

Liverpool FC, Everton, and the Premier League expressed solidarity with victims, as medics continued treating the wounded late into the night.

From cheers to chaos — a celebration shattered in seconds.
