A water tanker ran over a motorcyclist near Manghopir New Nazimabad in the city, resulting in his immediate death. Following the incident, a large crowd gathered in the area, expressing their deep grief and anger.
After the accident, the total number of fatalities from traffic accidents this year has reached 221, with 70 deaths caused by heavy vehicles.
The deceased’s body was transferred to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for legal formalities. SHO Manghopir Imran Khan stated that the deceased was identified as 35-year-old Muhammad Ibrahim Khan. The driver responsible for the accident fled the scene, but the police seized the water tanker and transferred it to the police station.
Police are conducting raids in search of the driver. The deceased’s neighbor, Nafis, shared that Ibrahim Khan was the imam of a mosque and a Hafiz of the Quran. He was a resident of Pakhtunabad, Street No. 13, and a father of two children.
He originally hailed from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and had been heading out on his motorcycle for tea after Taraweeh prayers when the tragic accident occurred.
