Elon Musk’s Threatning Email to Tesla Employees Resurfaces

Sent in 2022, the email addressed to Tesla executives clearly stated that remote work was no longer an option. Musk demanded that employees must complete at least 40 hours of in-office work per week or risk termination.

Musk also mentioned that he would personally review any requests from employees to work from home, granting approval only when absolutely necessary. He emphasized that the 40-hour rule applied to everyone, defining the office as a place where employees collaborate with their colleagues—not a “pretend office.” The email concluded with a firm warning: failure to show up would be considered as a resignation.
