In his latest unexpected move, tech billionaire Elon Musk has changed his display name on X (formerly Twitter) to Gorklon Rust, leaving users across the platform both baffled and intrigued.
The name seems to be a mash-up of “Grok” – Musk’s AI chatbot under xAI – and “Rust”, a popular programming language reportedly used in xAI’s backend. But there’s more: Gorklon Rust is also the name of a meme coin trading on the Solana blockchain, hinting at a deeper, possibly satirical connection.
This isn’t Musk’s first name switch. From Harry Bolz to Kekius Maximus, the billionaire often uses identity swaps to tease, troll, or test ideas on his platform.
Interestingly, the name change came just a day after Musk announced major updates to X’s recommendation algorithm, revealing that it will now be powered by a light version of Grok AI to enhance user experience.
