Internet Disruption – Multinational Companies Consider Relocating from Pakistan

-

Recent developments have raised serious concerns about Pakistan’s business environment.

According to Pakistan Business Council (PBC), the leading corporate advocacy group, many multinational companies are either planning to move their back offices out of Pakistan or have already done so.

This issue stems from widespread internet disruptions due to recent firewall implementations.

The PBC also noted that idle power generation capacity could result in job losses and reduced export and tax revenues.

While recognizing the need for security measures like firewalls, the PBC emphasized that poor implementation could damage the emerging software sector and undermine Pakistan’s reputation as a reliable IT service provider.
