Sourav Ganguly Criticizes Decline of Pakistan Cricket Team

-

Former Indian cricketer Sourav Ganguly has voiced concern over the recent struggles of Pakistan’s cricket team following their 2-0 Test series defeat against Bangladesh.

The losses in Rawalpindi, one by 10 wickets and the other by six, have sparked widespread criticism.

Speaking on the matter, Ganguly emphasized the lack of emerging talent in Pakistan, saying, “When we think of Pakistan, legends like Miandad, Wasim, Waqar, and Younis Khan come to mind. But nostalgia alone won’t win modern-day matches. Each generation needs to bring forth exceptional players, and right now, Pakistan seems to be missing that.”

He further stressed that his comments were not meant to disrespect current Pakistani players but to highlight the difference in quality compared to past generations. “Pakistan once had remarkable talent, but that spark seems absent now. It’s time for those involved in the sport to address this issue,” Ganguly concluded.

This critique comes after Pakistan’s underwhelming performances in recent tournaments, raising concerns about the future of the country’s cricket.
