Saqlain Mushtaq, former interim head coach of the Pakistan cricket team, has been appointed as the assistant coach for New Zealand during their upcoming T20 & ODI series against Pakistan. Mushtaq confirmed that he has accepted the role for a brief period and will only work with the team during their stay in Pakistan. He will join the New Zealand squad on April 12th and work with them during T20 & ODI series scheduled to be played in April and May.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Cricket Board is expected to appoint a new coaching staff led by Mickey Arthur, who will serve as a consultant. An official announcement is expected soon regarding the new coaching staff.
The schedule for the series between Pakistan and New Zealand was revised recently due to elections in Punjab.
