In a remarkable feat at the Asian Pacific African Combined Powerlifting Championship in South Africa, three sisters from Pakistan have achieved unprecedented success.
Verronica Sohail, Sybil Sohail, and Twinkle Sohail clinched four gold medals each across different weight categories.
Twinkle Sohail, competing in the 84 kg class despite not being fully fit, dominated her category by sweeping gold medals in Squat, Bench Press, Deadlift, and overall total.
Earlier, her sisters Verronica and Sybil had also secured four gold medals each in their respective weight divisions. This marks the first instance where three sisters have collectively earned gold medals in an international powerlifting event.
Next, the trio is set to participate in the equipped event scheduled for July 13.
