Controversy Surrounds Pakistan Cricket – Afridi’s Misconduct & Team Discord Exposed

-

Fresh controversy has erupted in Pakistan cricket following shocking reports involving Shaheen Afridi and other players.

The team’s disappointing T20 World Cup performance, which led to their elimination in the group stages, was anticipated due to issues within the squad under captain Babar Azam.

However, recent revelations highlight Afridi’s disruptive behavior, as detailed in a report submitted by coaches Gary Kirsten and Azhar Mahmood.

According to media sources, Kirsten’s report strongly criticizes Afridi for misconduct towards coaches during the T20 World Cup and preceding tours. Senior team management, including Wahab Riaz and Mansoor Rana, reportedly failed to address Afridi’s behavior despite the complaints.

Additionally, Kirsten and Mahmood have raised concerns about player lobbying and internal conflicts within the team, further complicating Pakistan cricket’s recent woes.

The dismissal of selectors Wahab Riaz and Abdur Razzaq following the T20 World Cup has also drawn attention to internal turmoil, with Riaz defending himself on social media amid allegations of sabotage within the team.

The abrupt removal of Afridi as captain and the reinstatement of Babar Azam have exacerbated tensions, with reports suggesting that team disharmony played a significant role in Pakistan’s recent poor performances.
