Ather Zahid, a 29-year-old Pakistani wrestler, won the International Championship by defeating Indian wrestler Singham Dubey in Kathmandu.
Throughout the competition, Zahid encountered tough challenges, but his perseverance and tactical skills led him to secure a decisive win against Dubey. Expressing his pride in this accomplishment, Zahid remarked,
“This victory is not just mine; it represents a major achievement for Pakistan and its 250 million citizens. I am bringing the International Championship title home!”
The international wrestling event, held on October 4, showcased elite talent from around the globe, highlighting the best in the sport.
Zahid’s journey to this championship began earlier this year when he qualified for the tournament by winning the Fight Or Die Championship, using his signature move, The Desert Slam, at the WrestleMax 3 event on May 4 at Kashmir Park in Karachi, Sindh.
Born in Al Ahsa, Saudi Arabia, Ather Zahid is the first Saudi-born Pakistani professional wrestler. He has honed his wrestling abilities under the guidance of former WWE superstar Kalisto, who has been instrumental in his development and success in the ring.
