The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the latest player rankings for Test and T20 formats, showing some big changes.
Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam has gone up in the Test rankings but has fallen in the T20 rankings.
England’s Joe Root is now the top player in Test cricket, pushing New Zealand’s Kane Williamson to second place. Babar Azam is now third, while New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell is fourth. Steve Smith and Rohit Sharma have dropped to fifth and sixth places.
In the Test bowlers’ rankings, India’s Ravichandran Ashwin is still in the lead, followed by Australia’s Josh Hazlewood and India’s Jasprit Bumrah. Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja remains the best in the Test all-rounder rankings.
For the T20 format, Australian batsman Travis Head is still number one, while Babar Azam has dropped to fifth place. India’s Surya Kumar Yadav is second, followed by England’s Phil Salt in third, and India’s Yashasvi Jaiswal in fourth. Pakistani batsman Mohammad Rizwan has fallen to sixth place.
In the T20 all-rounder rankings, Australia’s Marcus Stoinis is first, with Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza moving up to second and Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan to third. Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga has dropped to fourth.
