Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha has lashed out at India’s conduct during the Asia Cup 2025, accusing them of “disrespecting cricket” after refusing post-match handshakes and declining to accept the trophy from PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi.
“What India have done this tournament is very disappointing, they’re not disrespecting us, they’re disrespecting cricket. Good teams don’t behave like this. We stood there, took our medals, and fulfilled our obligations. But their behaviour was unacceptable.”
The controversy capped Pakistan’s heartbreaking last-over defeat in Dubai, where the trophy presentation was delayed by more than 90 minutes as India refused to receive it from Naqvi, who also heads the ACC. Throughout the tournament, India were seen avoiding interactions with Pakistan players and officials.
Agha, however, spared Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav, saying:
“If it was up to him, he would have shaken hands before the toss. He has always shown respect.”
