Karachi Kings are making power moves ahead of PSL 10, appointing former England all-rounder Ravi Bopara as their new head coach. Having previously served as the team’s assistant batting coach, Bopara now takes charge, replacing Phil Simmons, who led the squad last season.
The franchise dropped the news in style, posting an animated announcement:
“Coaching cap on! Welcome Ravi Bopara as the Head Coach of #KingsSquad for PSL 10.”
But that’s not all! Karachi Kings have also made a bold leadership change, handing the captaincy to David Warner. The Aussie dynamo, known for his fearless batting and aggressive leadership, is all set to spearhead Karachi’s campaign in PSL 10.
Qalandars Face a Blow as Gough Bows Out
While Kings fans celebrate, Lahore Qalandars have been dealt a tough hand—Darren Gough won’t be coaching them this season due to personal commitments. Gough, who made an impact as Qalandars’ Global Super League (GSL) head coach, was set to take charge in PSL 10, but his plans have changed.
Expressing his disappointment, Gough shared an emotional farewell message:
“Sad to miss PSL 10, but once a Qalandar, always a Qalandar! Wishing the team all the success. The squad we built at the Draft is exactly what we needed—I hope it brings huge results!”
Qalandars’ COO Sameen Rana acknowledged the setback but reaffirmed Gough’s place in the Qalandars family:
“We’re disappointed Darren won’t be with us, but we fully respect his commitments. He remains a valued part of our squad, and we wish him the very best.”
