No IPL, No PSL–What Happened with Bangladeshi Pacer Taskin Ahmed?

-

Bangladeshi pacer Taskin Ahmed has finally broken his silence about being left out of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10 draft, a decision that left many fans disappointed. Despite being an integral part of Bangladesh’s national team since 2014, Taskin went unpicked, leading to widespread questions about his omission.

No IPL, No PSL–What Happened with Bangladeshi Pacer Taskin Ahmed?

The right-arm fast bowler, who represented Durbar Rajshahi in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2024-25, has long been regarded as one of the country’s top talents. Yet, despite his prominence, Taskin failed to secure a spot in two of the world’s most prestigious cricket leagues: the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 and PSL 10.

Reports had suggested that Taskin was close to joining the Lucknow Super Giants in a previous IPL season as a replacement, but the deal fell apart when he was unable to obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Bangladesh Cricket Board.

Taking to social media, Taskin reassured fans by saying he wasn’t upset about missing out on the PSL. “What’s there to be upset about?” he said. “The main thing is if I can serve my country well and perform wherever I play, more opportunities will come my way.”

Reflecting on his IPL journey, Taskin mentioned that he had missed out on the IPL three times but remained optimistic. “If that had upset me, I would’ve hung myself by now. I’m not disappointed at all. It’s all about fate, and there will be more chances in the future, Inshallah,” he added.

Taskin’s resilience and positive outlook have inspired his fans, leaving them hopeful that this setback will not define his career. With his determination and skill, it seems there will be plenty of future opportunities for the talented pacer.
