“Family…No Entry” – BCCI Says After India’s Test Disaster in Recent Series

-

After India’s shocking Test series defeat, BCCI’s latest directive says ‘Family… No Entry’ to tighten focus on the team.

In a move that sounds more like a reality show than a cricket policy, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has reportedly banned cricketers’ families from accompanying them on tours, all in the name of better performance.

After India’s embarrassing 0-3 defeat to New Zealand and a 1-3 loss in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, the BCCI has decided the Men in Blue need to focus, not on sightseeing or family bonding, but on winning matches.

This bold decision came after a high-stakes review meeting in Mumbai, where board officials, head coach Gautam Gambhir, chief selector Ajit Agarkar, and captain Rohit Sharma sat down to hash it out. No family, no distractions—apparently that’s the new mantra.

The BCCI has reintroduced a rule that had been temporarily shelved during the COVID-19 pandemic. According to reports, wives and families will no longer be allowed to join players on tours—looks like “family vacation” has been officially canceled.

Why, you ask? Well, apparently having family around on international tours is distracting to the players. No more family selfies from exotic destinations or tearful goodbyes at airports—just cricket, and lots of it. The new rule states that family members can only join players if the tour lasts longer than 45 days, and even then, they’re only allowed for two weeks. For shorter tours? Sorry, you’ll have to make do with a phone call.

And the cherry on top? No more VIP treatment when it comes to travel. All players, no matter how big their star power, will now have to travel together on the team bus. That means no more private jet luxury or special treatment—just good old-fashioned team unity, whether you like it or not. So, sorry Rohit Sharma, looks like it’s back to sitting next to the rookie on the bus!
