Harbhajan Singh just landed himself in hot water after making a controversial comment about Jofra Archer during an IPL 2025 match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals— and social media is not having it.
Sunrisers Hyderabad went all out, smashing 286/6 in 20 overs, the second-highest total in IPL history. Meanwhile, Archer had a nightmare spell, leaking 76 runs in 4 overs—the worst in IPL history.
While calling the match, Harbhajan compared Archer’s bowling speed to a London black taxi, saying,
“London mein kaali taxi ka meter tez bhaagta hai, aur yahan pe Archer sahab ka meter bhi tez bhaaga hai.”
(Basically, he said Archer’s meter was running just like a London cab.)
The comment didn’t sit well with fans, who slammed it as racist. Social media blew up, with people calling for serious action against Harbhajan. So far, he’s stayed silent on the controversy.
