Pakistan’s batting duo, Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, have maintained their fourth and fifth spots in the latest ICC T20I rankings released on Wednesday, with ratings of 755 and 746, respectively.
Australia’s Travis Head leads the rankings, followed by India’s Suryakumar Yadav in second place.
The recent rankings saw significant progress for Indian batters after their five-match T20I series against Zimbabwe, which they won 4-1.
Indian captain Shubman Gill climbed 36 places to 37th after scoring 170 runs in five innings, surpassing Rohit Sharma (42nd) and Virat Kohli (51st), who recently retired from T20Is after winning the 2024 T20 World Cup.
In the T20I bowler rankings, Zimbabwe pacer Blessing Muzarabani moved up 11 places to 44th after taking six wickets during the series against India.
India’s Washington Sundar and Mukesh Kumar also improved their rankings, rising to 46th and 73rd, respectively. England spinner Adil Rashid remains the top T20I bowler, with South Africa’s Anrich Nortje and Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga in second and third place.
In the Test rankings, England’s impressive innings and 114-run victory over the West Indies at Lord’s led to several players improving their positions. Harry Brook moved up three places to seventh, behind top-ranked Kiwi Kane Williamson. Zak Crawley and Ollie Pope both gained three spots, reaching 13th and 29th, respectively.
Newcomers Jamie Smith and Gus Atkinson also made notable entries in the rankings. Smith joined the batting rankings at 75th after his half-century debut, while Atkinson debuted at 52nd in the Test bowlers’ list following his 12-wicket haul.
