-

Pakistan’s Muhammad Asim Khan has made history by winning his first World Tour title at the 2024 Charlottesville Open Squash Championship.

Asim triumphed over top-seeded English player Nick Wall in a gripping 65-minute final held in Virginia, USA.

After losing the first game 12-14, Asim mounted an impressive comeback, winning the next three games 12-10, 11-5, and 11-6 to secure a thrilling 3-1 victory. This achievement marks a significant milestone for Pakistan as it represents Asim’s debut World Tour championship.

The Charlottesville Open, featuring a prize pool of $28,750, was a pivotal moment in Asim Khan’s career. His victory also earned him 500 ranking points, which will enhance his global standing.

Asim’s success highlights the resurgence of squash talent in Pakistan, a country with a rich history in the sport. With legendary champion Jahangir Khan having once dominated the international squash scene, Asim’s recent victory contributes to Pakistan’s ongoing legacy in the sport.
