Imagine finding out that the former Al Qaeda Chief had a soft spot for Bollywood melodies. Sounds bizarre, right? But a resurfaced interview suggests that Osama bin Laden, may have been a fan of Alka Yagnik’s songs—leaving social media both amused and stunned.
An old conversation with producer Anu Ranjan, recorded six years ago, is now making waves online. In the clip, Yagnik reacts to reports that during the 2011 Abbottabad raid, the CIA found recordings of her songs in bin Laden’s hideout. Amused by the revelation, she quipped, “Is it my fault? No matter who he was, maybe he had an artist inside him.”
One of the tracks allegedly found was Ajnabee Mujhko Itna Bata from Pyar To Hona Hi Tha (1998). The internet had a field day with the news, with one user joking, “Alka ji: My fans are dangerous!” Others simply called her “the best female singer ever.”
Yagnik also shed light on the “dirty politics” in Bollywood’s music industry, revealing that she lost many songs to senior singers despite rehearsing them.
A terror mastermind secretly vibing to Bollywood hits? If nothing else, this proves that music transcends all boundaries—even the most unexpected ones.
