Pakistan’s superstar singer Atif Aslam has confessed that he still longs for Bollywood. Known for his soulful voice and powerful high notes, Atif has fans across the globe, with over 10.7 million followers on Instagram backing his stardom.
Currently on tour in Canada, Atif has been rocking back-to-back concerts. In an interview with Canadian-Indian journalist Faridoon Shahryar, he opened up for the first time about how much he misses the Bollywood stage.
“At home, we have limited resources and not many big names. Allah blessed me with the chance to shine in Bollywood, and I’m grateful for that,”
Atif said.
“It’s been eight to ten years since I performed there. I miss the studios, the concerts, and the time spent with friends. I can’t go back, but I still feel the void. The good thing is, music is growing everywhere now.”
He also shared memories of working with Vishal-Shekhar in Dubai and recording one of his hit songs for Salman Khan.
“They asked me to sing in lower notes instead of my usual high pitch. That created a new kind of magic. And singing for Salman Khan has always been special — he’s an incredible personality.”
Fans loved Atif’s honesty, but social media reactions were mixed. Some praised his candidness, while others criticized him for admiring Bollywood, with a few even taunting that he should “take Indian citizenship like Adnan Sami.”
