Will Smith described the Quran as “crystal clear” saying the Muslim holy book is difficult to Misunderstand.
Renowned Hollywood actor Will Smith recently shared insights into his spiritual journey, highlighting his deep appreciation for the Quran and its impact on his life during a podcast interview with Egyptian journalist Amr Adeeb on the Big Time Podcast.
Will Smith has described the Quran as “crystal clear,” saying the Muslim holy book is difficult to misunderstand.
“I loved the simplicity; the Quran is so clear; it is crystal clear. It is hard to walk away with misunderstanding,”
Smith said, adding that he read the Quran last Ramadan.
Smith opened up, stating, “The last two years of my life have been a difficult time and my intention turned inward and I read all the holy books, I’ve read the Quran cover to cover during Ramazan this year. This is the spiritual seeking phase of my life.”
Smith, who said he has read the holy books of the two other Abrahamic faiths, Judaism and Christianity, added that he was surprised at how interconnected the three holy scriptures – the Quran, Torah and Bible – were.
“I was surprised how it is like one story, from the Torah through the Bible and into the Quran. I never totally understood Abraham as the father and then the split with Isaac and Ishmail and it was beautiful to get the completion of that comprehension.”
He furthered, “I was shocked how much Moses was mentioned. Through the Quran, I’ve related to Moses and [his] experience.”
The actor also shared, “I love the simplicity of the Quran. It’s so clear. It’s crystal clear. It’s hard to walk away with a misunderstanding,” further adding, “The spirit of it was so beautiful and clear.”
The movie star, who is on a visit to Saudi Arabia, also expressed his “love” for the Middle Eastern country and its culture during a podcast with MBC.
“I think I was a Genie in a past life. I am so at home; I love it here,” Will Smith, who played the role of Genie in the Aladdin live-action movie, said jokingly.
