Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan has once again won the admiration of his fans, but this time not through his blockbuster films, but with an inspiring, life-changing decision.
On his birthday, November 2, Shah Rukh made a significant choice. While he opted not to follow his usual tradition of greeting fans outside his home, he took an even more important step—deciding to quit smoking permanently. He revealed this at an event, emphasizing that it would benefit both his health and his financial standing.
As per internal brand policies, companies often refrain from partnering with stars who smoke. This decision has only increased Shah Rukh Khan’s widespread admiration. Many brands traditionally avoid working with celebrities who smoke, making Shah Rukh’s move even more appealing, further boosting his popularity.
According to Economic Times, several global brands targeting younger audiences are now eager to sign advertising deals with Shah Rukh due to this positive change. A marketing chief from a renowned brand mentioned that their youth-focused brand can now collaborate with Shah Rukh with greater confidence.
Shah Rukh Khan is currently the ambassador for several major brands, including Thums Up, Everest Spices, Mantra, Castrol, Dubai Tourism, Realme, DX, Hyundai, and Decor. As of 2023, his brand value is estimated at around $120.7 million.
In the past, Shah Rukh’s mother-in-law, Savita Chhibber, and close friend Juhi Chawla had also encouraged him to quit smoking. In 2020, when a fan asked for advice on quitting smoking via social media, Shah Rukh humorously replied, “You’re looking for answers in the wrong place.”
