Karachi – On July 8, 2025, a nightmare unfolded behind a locked door: the almost skeletal body of actress and model Humaira Asghar was found rotting in her rented flat — nearly 10 months after her death.

No one knocked. No one checked. No one knew — until a court bailiff showed up to evict her over unpaid rent.
Repeated knocks went unanswered. The door was finally broken down… and there she lay — facedown, decayed, and unrecognizable.
The discovery shook the city and left one burning question: Did rent arrears bury Humaira in silence?
Humaira had been living in that apartment since December 2018. But a long-standing dispute with her landlord over a rent increase spiraled out of control. She allegedly refused to pay the raised amount, and the unpaid dues kept piling up.
From 2019 to 2023, she reportedly owed Rs. 535,000 in rent. The landlord sent notice after notice. She didn’t respond to any. Eventually, the matter went to court.
But here’s the gut punch — Humaira wasn’t broke.
Her parents and brother insist she was financially secure. Bank records confirm it. She wasn’t struggling for money.
So why didn’t she pay? Why did she disappear into silence while debt piled up and no one knocked for months?
Whatever the truth was, Humaira took it with her — behind a locked door, in a flat where she died alone.
