In a concerning incident, Bollywood actor and politician Govinda has been hospitalized due to an accidental leg injury sustained at home.
As reported by PTI and the Mumbai Police, the injury resulted from an accidental discharge of his own revolver.
The 60-year-old actor is currently being treated at CritiCare Hospital and is said to be in stable condition. His manager has assured that he is doing well. The incident occurred around 4:45 a.m. while he was preparing to depart for Kolkata, and an investigation is underway. Authorities have seized the firearm involved.
Govinda’s wife, Sunita Ahuja, confirmed that he is stable and receiving appropriate care. Although she was in Kolkata at the time, she is now on her way to Mumbai to be by his side.
Shashi Sinha, Govinda’s manager, informed ANI that the actor accidentally dropped his licensed revolver while trying to return it to its case, which led to the discharge. Thankfully, the bullet has been removed, and Govinda is expected to recover fully.
Police have stated that no formal complaint has been filed regarding the incident.
