The 16th season of the renowned Indian TV show ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati,’ hosted by Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachan, began on August 12, 2024.
Fans are thrilled to see Bachchan back on the show, especially after his emotional farewell at the end of season 15 led to speculation about his return.
Bachchan’s salary for hosting has seen a significant increase over the years. In the first season (2000), he earned around 25 lakh rupees per episode.
By the fourth season, his fee had risen to 50 lakh rupees per episode. By the sixth season, it was 1.5 crore rupees per episode, and by the eighth season, it had surpassed 2 crore rupees.
During the ninth season, his fee was 2.6 crore rupees per episode, which increased to 3 crore rupees per episode in the tenth season. For seasons 11 through 13, he earned 3.5 crore rupees per episode, and in season 14, his fee was 4 crore rupees per episode.
For the current 16th season, reports suggest that Amitabh Bachchan’s fee has now reached 5 crore rupees per episode.
