Met Office Issues Cyclone Alert – Heavy Rainfall Expected in Sindh

-

The Met Office has issued a warning about a deep depression over the coastal belt of Sindh, which is expected to develop into a cyclonic storm within the next 24 hours.

The depression, currently situated about 270 km east-southeast of Karachi, is moving westward from India at a speed of 12 km per hour.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) warns that the approaching storm could bring strong windstorms and heavy to very heavy rainfall across various districts in Sindh, including Karachi, Tharparkar, Badin, Thatta, and others. This severe weather is expected to persist until August 30.

In light of the forecast, the Met Office has advised Sindh’s fishermen to stay away from the sea until August 31 to avoid any potential hazards associated with the storm.
