Karachi Faces Flood Threat as Heavy Rainfall Continues

-

Karachi is experiencing heavy rainfall due to a deep depression from Gujarat, India, affecting areas like North Karachi, Korangi, and Malir.

The Met Office forecasts the rain will continue until August 31, with 150mm to 200mm expected.

The strong monsoon system is causing concern for urban flooding, with wind speeds of up to 33 nautical miles per hour. Other Sindh districts, including Thatta and Badin, may see even heavier rainfalls, reaching up to 400mm.

Sindh CM Murad Ali Shah has ordered emergency measures across the province. The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has also issued alerts for potential flooding in vulnerable districts like Dadu and Jamshoro.
