Uzair Jan Baloch, the notorious leader of the Lyari Gang War, made a distinctive appeal to the court.
In a petition filed through his lawyer, Farooq Haider Jatoi, at a special court in the Counter-Terrorism Complex at Karachi Central Jail, Baloch raised an unusual request.
Baloch stated, “I urge you to visit the jail and witness firsthand the injustice I am enduring. Though I have been given a television, the cable service has not been provided, preventing me from watching news channels or any entertainment programs.”
In his petition, he also highlighted that he is not allowed to perform Friday prayers at the mosque, nor is he permitted to meet his family once a week. He demanded strict action against the jail administration’s behavior.
Defense attorney Farooq Haider Jatoi emphasized that Baloch should be provided facilities as per the jail manual, including the right to meet his family according to the law.
The court responded by issuing a notice to the jail administration, seeking a reply by December 24. According to the police, during the 2012 Lyari operation, Baloch and others attacked the police. A case has been registered against him and his associates at Kharadar police station.
