In a distinctive approach to protest, the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) introduced a unique concept: the creation of a “symbolic Adiala Jail” at their Insaf House headquarters in Karachi as a demonstration of solidarity and support for Imran Khan.
This unconventional move serves as a symbolic gesture, embodying their unwavering allegiance to their leader amidst challenging times. By staging peaceful protests across the province and setting up this symbolic jail, PTI aims to highlight their commitment to justice and their leader’s cause, while urging accountability for those responsible for any injustices. This innovative protest tactic not only showcases PTI’s creativity and resilience but also underscores their determination to voice their grievances through peaceful means.
Addressing reporters from behind these symbolic bars, The president of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf Sindh chapter Haleem Adil Shaikh declared plans for “peaceful protests” throughout the province on May 9.
Sheikh emphasized the party’s legal right to stage peaceful demonstrations, denouncing violence and calling for accountability for those responsible for the May 9 incidents.
He questioned the involvement of Punjab police on that day and urged institutions to identify Pakistan’s enemies. Sheikh rejected the notion of May 9 being used as a pretext to target PTI and Imran Khan, alleging that it ultimately benefited the PML-N and the PDM.
