Supreme Court to Hear Monal Restaurant’s Review Petition on September 5

-

The Supreme Court (SC) will review Monal Restaurant’s appeal against its closure orders on September 5, 2024.

Monal Restaurant, a renowned dining spot in Islamabad, is famous for its picturesque views and extensive menu.

The review petition will be heard by a three-judge bench led by Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa, with Justice Jamal Mandokhail and Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan also on the panel.

Earlier, on August 15, the Supreme Court issued a contempt notice to Malik Luqman Ali Afzal, the restaurant’s owner, for failing to comply with the court’s directives regarding the closure of commercial activities at Margalla Hills National Park.

Chief Justice Isa criticized Afzal for allegedly engaging in “propaganda” against the court on television and questioned his absence from the court session.

Monal Restaurant has announced on social media that it will shut down on September 11, 2024, in accordance with the court’s orders.
