Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif disclosed his decision to avoid the Israeli Prime Minister during a UN session.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, while addressing a multi-party conference in Islamabad on Monday, shared how he deliberately avoided the Israeli Prime Minister during the United Nations General Assembly session last month.
Shehbaz Sharif said he decided to avoid confronting the Israeli Prime Minister when he learned that Netanyahu would be speaking after him at the session.
The Prime Minister also learned that Netanyahu would be seated in the same room where leaders wait for their turn to deliver speeches.
He explained, “I sat in such a way that the Israeli Prime Minister would walk past me without seeing me. When he passed by, I slipped out from the back so I wouldn’t have to shake hands with him.”
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif added, “Thank God, I didn’t have to face him, but as soon as he arrived, our entire delegation walked out.”
It is noteworthy that when Netanyahu stood to speak, the Pakistani delegation, led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, walked out of the United Nations General Assembly.
Shehbaz Sharif further said, “These are not things to boast about; they come from the deepest emotions of the heart.”
