Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met Dr. Fouzia Siddiqui, sister of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui, and assured her that the government has not forgotten Aafia’s case.
He promised full legal and diplomatic support, saying the nation stands with Dr. Aafia. The PM revealed that he had already written to former U.S. President Joe Biden, and now a special committee, led by Federal Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar, has been formed to push the case forward.
The committee will stay in close contact with Dr. Fouzia and extend all possible help.
The Prime Minister reaffirmed that efforts to bring Aafia home have been ongoing and will not stop.
“We are with Aafia, every step of the way,” he told Dr. Fouzia.
