Pervez Khattak, a former aide to Imran Khan, has formed a new political party called PTI Parliamentarians. The party was announced and it is comprised of 57 former members of the PTI assembly.
Khattak said that the party was formed to “continue the struggle for the rights of the people” and to “provide an alternative to the current political system.” He also said that the party would be “committed to democracy, justice, and equality.”
The formation of PTI Parliamentarians is a significant development in Pakistani politics. It is the first major split in the PTI since Imran Khan was ousted as Prime Minister in April 2022. It remains to be seen how successful the party will be, but it is likely to pose a challenge to the PTI in the upcoming elections.
