Moon Sighting – Eid ul Adha is on 7th June Across Pakistan, Hajj is on 5th

-

The crescent moon signaling the start of ZilHaj has been sighted in Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Australia, the UAE, and Oman — locking in Eid-ul-Adha for Friday, June 6 in these countries.

Saudi Arabia announced that ZilHaj begins on Wednesday, May 28, setting Waquf-e-Arafa for June 5 and Eid-ul-Adha for June 6, following verified moon sightings from across the Kingdom. Indonesia, the world’s largest Muslim-majority nation, aligned its Eid celebration with Saudi Arabia after confirming the moon sighting. Oman, Australia, and the UAE have also confirmed the moon’s arrival, marking Eid for June 6.

Meanwhile, Malaysia and Brunei did not sight the crescent on Tuesday, choosing to complete 30 days of Ziquad and observe Eid on Saturday, June 7.

In Pakistan, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, led by Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, announced that the ZilHaj moon was not sighted anywhere in the country, officially setting Eid-ul-Adha for June 7. The committee’s Islamabad meeting included religious scholars, Suparco, and meteorology officials, all agreeing on the moon’s absence.

Eid-ul-Adha, the Festival of Sacrifice, honors Prophet Ibrahim’s (AS) devotion to God, marked by prayers, sacrifices, and charity — a deeply cherished celebration uniting Muslims worldwide, whether June 6 or June 7.
