2025 marked a milestone in Pakistan’s history, redefining the nation’s global image with unprecedented achievements across defense, diplomacy, economy, sports, and science.
Defense Achievements

Pakistan’s military successes in May 2025 reshaped regional power dynamics. Following an Indian attack in Pahalgam, Pakistan launched Operation Bunyan-al-Marsous, decisively defeating India’s aggression and demonstrating tactical superiority. The Pakistani Air Force neutralized multiple Indian aircraft, including Rafale, MiG-29, and Su-30s, marking the largest Beyond Visual Range (BVR) engagement in decades.
Field Marshal Promotion

In recognition of this historic victory, Army Chief Gen. Syed Asim Munir was promoted to Field Marshal, becoming the first commander to hold both Chief of Army Staff and Field Marshal positions simultaneously. On December 4, 2025, he was also appointed Pakistan’s first Chief of Defence Forces, establishing a more organized military command.
Pakistan-US Relations

The year also witnessed a remarkable diplomatic shift. Former US President Donald Trump publicly praised Pakistan’s leadership, calling Gen. Asim Munir a Highly Respected General and credited Pakistan with preventing a potential India-Pakistan nuclear confrontation. Multiple high-profile meetings in the US and Egypt reinforced strategic and industrial cooperation between the two nations.
