The unveiling of the T20 World Cup venue in New York has been announced, featuring the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium with a seating capacity of 34,000. Construction of this innovative modular stadium, set to be completed in just three months, is already underway.
The stadium, a groundbreaking addition to cricket infrastructure, will host eight matches during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, including the highly anticipated India-Pakistan showdown on June 9th.
Interested parties can now register for tickets to attend the T20 World Cup matches.
Designed to offer various seating options such as premium, general admission, VIP, and hospitality suites, along with unique amenities like a party deck and cabanas, the stadium promises an exceptional experience for spectators.
Sustainability is a key focus, with grandstands repurposed from the Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix contributing to the eco-friendly design.
The architectural prowess behind the project comes from Populous, known for iconic stadiums like the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad and the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.
ICC Chief Executive Geoff Allardice expressed excitement about this milestone, emphasizing the importance of accommodating 34,000 cricket enthusiasts and ensuring an unforgettable experience for players and fans alike.
In addition to cricket, the venue will offer a dedicated fan zone, diverse food and beverage options, and advanced media and broadcast facilities.
The wicket, akin to those at Adelaide Oval and Eden Park, is being curated in Florida and will be transported to New York in May.
Located 30 miles east of Manhattan, the venue boasts convenient transport and parking options, including three nearby train stations.
Fans are encouraged to seize the opportunity to witness history in the making by attending the festival of cricket, which kicks off with the match between Sri Lanka and South Africa on June 3rd.
