The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) reported on Monday that torrential rains from July 1 to September 3 have resulted in 591 deaths and 306 injuries across Pakistan.
The persistent rainfall has caused significant destruction, impacting lives, property, crops, and livestock nationwide.
According to the NDMA, Punjab reported the highest number of fatalities at 114, followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with 88 deaths. Sindh and Balochistan saw 61 and 31 fatalities, respectively. The heavy rains have destroyed 23,416 properties and affected over 44 kilometers of roads and 35 bridges.
In Karachi, rainfall with thunderstorms is anticipated tomorrow, as a new monsoon system is expected to move into eastern Sindh.
The maximum temperature in Karachi is forecasted to reach 34 degrees Celsius, with current temperatures at 29 degrees Celsius. While heavy rain is not expected in Karachi, surrounding areas may experience moderate to light rain. Additionally, rain is predicted in various districts of Sindh and Balochistan until September 4.
