🏍Karachi: In a major step toward women’s empowerment, the Sindh government has announced free electric scooters for women under its Pink Scooties Program.
The initiative, reviewed in a high-level meeting chaired by Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, aims to make daily travel easier, safer, and more affordable for women and female students. Officials from the Transport Department and Sindh Mass Transit Authority also attended the session.
Sharjeel Memon said the scheme is a game-changer for women relying on public transport for education, jobs, and other needs. The scooters will be allotted on merit and necessity, ensuring maximum women can benefit.
He added that the transparent system will not only save time and costs but also give women a safe and dignified mode of transport. “Sindh wants women to be independent in every walk of life, and this project is a big step in that direction,” he stressed.
Women, especially students and professionals, have been urged to apply and make full use of this opportunity for education, careers, and daily mobility.
