KARACHI: In a lighthearted twist from City Hall, the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) accidentally “approved” an E-Challan resolution — all thanks to a mistaken signature!
The KMC clarified that the resolution about traffic fines and e-challans was not properly discussed or debated, but a signature on the document mistakenly made it look approved. Officials confirmed the matter will be revisited in the next council meeting for proper debate and decision-making.
Opposition Leader Advocate Saifuddin reacted, noting the resolution was presented on October 31 and discussed by leaders from Jamaat-e-Islami, PTI, and PPP. “We’ve heard of typos, but a signed resolution by mistake? That’s a first!” he joked, adding that Murtaza Wahab should focus on Karachi’s work rather than clearing up administrative bloopers.
Even in governance, it seems a signature can sometimes create more comedy than consensus — giving Karachi residents a reason to chuckle. ✍😂
